About Image Chest

Image Chest is an image and video hosting site that groups uploads into posts, similar to albums. It describes itself as a home for "uncensored and uncompressed" media, and combines private hosting with an optional community feed where published posts can be browsed, voted on, commented on and favourited.

Registered users can upload JPG, PNG, GIF and WEBP images, plus MP4 videos, with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Each post has a privacy setting: Public, Hidden, Password Protected or Secret. Descriptions support Markdown, and posts can be merged or organised into folders.

Image Chest is operated by Image Chest, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company. A Gold membership raises the number of files per upload and folder limits. There is an API that uses personal access tokens created from your profile.

How to upload to Image Chest

1. Create an account and sign in (uploads are not open to guests at present).
2. Click upload, add up to 20 files, and choose the post's privacy setting.
3. Create the post and copy its link. You can add more files to the post afterwards.

Things to know

• Account required: The FAQ notes that unregistered users may not currently upload. Older FAQ answers mention a 10 MB limit for unregistered users, but guest uploads are disabled.
• Content rules: The terms ban involuntary pornography or nudity, copyright infringement, gore such as death or mutilation, images that violate the privacy of people depicted, content illegal in your country and advertising uploads.
• Not a CDN: The terms say the service must not be used as your own content delivery network, for example to host site assets, avatars or adverts.
• Deleting posts: You can delete posts from your account, and each post also comes with a deletion URL worth saving.
• Ads: The free site shows advertising.
